When Banana Bread Goes Wrong

Over the last few years, with all the cooking and baking I've done, who would have thought that the big wreck I'd have would involve one of the simplest quick breads ever? I made a vegan banana bread that's very similar to ones I've made bfore and I just didn't let it bake long enough aparrently. After a clean toothpick, I turned out a globby mess, scooped it back onto a cookie sheet and voila. You have a cake wreck.

I bought these super cute sweaters from Mini Boden with visions of a sweet brother picture.

It just wasn't in the cards :)

Henry's Christmas program was during the day. I'm so glad that the matching sweaters I chose for he and Charlie had a hood :)

He spotted me in the crowd

Old Charlie. Thrilled to be watching Henry as always. 'What? I'm just wearing my Home Depot mask and picking me nose!' Jared was happy I took about 5 pictures of him doing it.

Henry announced after school the other day that he wanted to make a 'wolverine cake' and have a haunted house for us in the playroom. I had him make the cake himself by following the pictures on the back of the box instead of making it from scratch together. He did a fantastic job!

I looked up images of the wolverine logo, because I knew I wouldn't be able to actually replicate the whole thing on a cake. This is as good as it gets :) Mmm. Lemon Supreme. Granny's favorite!

No matter what anyone else says about it, Henry thinks his tree is a perfect '10'. It's the Bo Derek of trees!

We took a little drive up Tollgate to get our very own tree

It's rumored that Santa is bringing us all snowshoes which would have come in handy in the hip-deep snow

All the boys going to see a man about a tree.

Deck the Halls

This is the first year I've really decorated for Christmas. Since I don't have a lot of decorations, I'm starting slow and getting things I really like, so I can use them from year to year.

The quilted wall hanging that Heidi's mom made for us as a housewarming gift. The snowman part is a removable panel for each season.

Our Advent Calendar. Each they each get a chocolate coin and then I rolled up a piece of paper with something we're doing from going to the library for Holiday stories to making Gingerbread men. One day while Henry was at school, Charlie and I got to go to Brights, the local candy store, and pick out the candies to decorate with.

I got these clothes pins from Etsy, and then strung them on a thick hemp twine, and anchored them with sweet fake poinsetta blooms to display all of our cards and photos from friends and families.

Because our tree is 'slender' this year, I put some of those blooms on it as well. They're light and don't weigh the branches down too much.

Toddler Meal Avoidance

Sorry some of these are blurry. Just a glimpse at how he can get through a meal without actually eating anything. Turkey meatloaf and mashed potatoes with wilted greens...yum!

Oh, maybe it's too hot?

Or, maybe I have an owie?
(tried to buffer the flash) ROAR

Daddy, can you give me a bite?

EWWW! Not that!
Really?! This is dinner?
