Supah Fly

It seems as if this summer heat will be sticking around for awhile, and my days are getting any less full, so it's time to start getting runs in when I can. Which means I'll usually have the kids with me. Good thing we bought our handy jogger! While it's a little awkward to get used to running without moving my upper body, it give me a lot of flexibility and freedom so I'll get used to it. Plus, who could mind running with these gorgeous views?! I let Henry get out and run while we were on this paved path. He loved it. The run today was actually his idea; 'Mom, I think we should go for a little run.' Maybe I've been looking too far for my running partners and motivation. He was right here all along!

Splish, Splash

Shocking...the snorkels have turned into swords! Charlie got a hair cut, because as much as I loved his curls, his hair's still too fine and it's out of control!

I just love looking at my boys from the back, their little necks and shoulders...millions of kisses have landed there!

He looks vaguely like George Bush in this picture.. :)

Finally! one with both of them smiling at the same time. My sweet little boys. Charlie is just growing so fast, and has become quite the chatterbox!

Charlie loves to play with his blocks. I like to rotate their toys so that it's new all over again and this has been the case with the blocks for sure!

Henry 'reading' stories to Jared. As a precursor to reading, they're given story books that have pictures only and they make up the story that goes with it.

It's been so humid the last couple days! The boys shucked their shirts to play in the afternoon breeze.

They're like little puppies rolling around with each other.

I thought this one was funny because it was like one long body

Fast Friends

Henry could not fall asleep last night. I let Dailey get up on the bed with him, and he was out in about 30 seconds. Dailey didn't stay on the bed for long, but it was just what H needed. Charlie was having his own little come apart in the other room which is why H was camped out in the parental unit. I don't think we could have picked a better time to get a dog. H has gotten very attached to him and he's just the nicest dog. Though I don't love him enough to let him be on my pillow ;)

Poor little man! He got his suitcase packed and brought his little blue chair out pronouncing, 'Okay! I'm ready to back to our old home now!' We had to explain (again, some more) that Massachusetts isn't our home anymore. He really misses all of his friends.

Student of the Week

I got Henry's Student of the Week board all set up, and brought two of his favorite books and his scrapbook to share.

Here's Henry's sefl-portrait. I love the long eyelashes :) Throughout the year, they'll do more self-portraits and it will be interesting to see how they change.

Ah, sleeping in the warm glow of the afternoon sun. Makes me sleepy just thinking about it!

Quite the Fancy Dog Bed

At least he gets on the towel...he's still not allowed on the bed while we're in it, but I feel bad for his poor arthritic joints on our hardwoods. Plus, how can you be mean to this face?

There's an obvious reason why he's not allowed in the bed while we're there...because it's not physically possible ;)

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip

Charlie's first time helping with cookie making. Yummy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip from Joy of Cooking.

Luckily he didn't decide to dart his hand into the moving mixer while I was taking the picture. He was very enthralled with the process. Henry is awesome. He can operate the mixer like a pro.
