It's been a long and quick month all at once. We're anxiously awaiting Jared's return home this Friday, and I really miss having my camera!

Henry continues to love, love, love pre-school and Charlie likes having the run of the house during those times. They have started teaming up to show me who's boss, so I've had some major messes to clean up the last few weeks-but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?

I'll post Jared's Caribbean pictures and photos from his time on the ship when he gets home.

Ahoy, Matey!

Today the boys and I made the trip down to Buzzards Bay to say Bon Voyage to Jared as he pushed out to sea aboard the TS Kennedy or a month of the Mass Maritime Academy's Sea Term 2010. He's serving as the ship's doctor for the first portion of the journey going from Buzzards Bay to Tortolla and then he'll fly home. If you'd like to follow his journey, you can click here to read the blog kept by some of the cadets. You can also track the ship on a link in the sidebar of that blog.
Henry got to wear his Spiderman costume for the tour, and was very proud to announce to all the smiling guys that passed him (probably remembering a similar time from their own childhoods) to announce that he was Spiderman, and had BIG muscles. They even each got a toy ship from the nurse that Jared will be working with, and we had our picture taken as a family on one of the decks.
I was pretty impressed with the sheer size of it, although when we were in his room, I did feel the walls closing in a little...when I realized how close he was to the outer door, it was fine, but I don't think I was made for a long ship voyage in a lower deck!
We're very proud of you, Jaredand appreciate that you're taking your vacation month to make sure that the cadets have a safe and healthy time at sea. We'll be anxiously awaiting your return and I'm sure the boys will be on their best behavior!
