Well, it was Henry's first concert, and overall it was a success. It was a ridiculously long day, starting out at 9am when we left the house (well, starting well before then, but you know) to get to Barnes and Noble and secure a wristband for the concert. From there, we went to the mall with our friends, since the concert was a little ways from home. We had the kids play in the play space there, and then had lunch, went shopping for really exciting things like nursing tank tops at Gap, and then headed back to Barnes and Noble in order to be admitted to the show at 2pm for what we thought would be a one hour wait. Turns out the show didn't start until 3:30, and it was so much fun (please read the sarcasm) containing Henry. Luckily, I had his 'back pack' so I just unclipped the tail, wrapped it around the chair and clipped it back on, so he was trapped. Remember also, he'd had no nap...double the fun! He actually did really good given the circumstances, and is now asleep for the night I think, after falling asleep in the car.
What was all this fuss for, you might ask? We had the chance to see Bare Naked Ladies perform for free from their new children's CD
Snacktime and it was great. They also sang, as their last song, one of their most famous adult songs. If you're not familiar, this is the band that wrote and sings "If I Had A Million Dollars". It was pretty fun. I did lose it at the end, however, when Henry was crawling on the bathroom floor, because he was a 'dog'...however, I can't be too upset, given he
was on a leash!
Waiting....
Henry is clearly enjoying himself :) This is before the music started, so it's not because it was too loud...I think he likes the way his voice sounds to him with his ears plugged because he was talking to himself while he did this.
Waiting some more...
YES! The wait is over!
