Henry was not happy that I wouldn't let him go play with the bikes outside the fence..still doesn't understand the concept of other people's property (he's not down with opp :) )
Lettin' his pigs breathe
This is the side view of our apartment building from the playground. Our apartment is on the other end of the building, backed against the trees...really pretty, but it's still an end unit, so you get the picture. The apartments divide the building in half, so from the white round vent-thing on the top, down the center and forward is the apartment. The first floor windows go to the first floor apartment. The second floor windows are the master bedroom, then the second roof-line you can see goes to the loft area, which sits above the dining room, making the living room have about 16-foot ceilings..lots of natural light and really pretty. Then the section of the apartment that's sticking out is Henry's bedroom, and the small portion in the very front is the entrance with a staircase to each apartments individual doors...there's lots of room...come and visit!
Who knew that all I needed was a pair of work gloves and an empty room? Henry entertained himself by running in circles around me for about 20 mintues (which is a REALLY long time for him)...he was saying "Fast, Fast, Fast" and panting...Sherri had to capture it on film! (Note the pretty "Summer Heat" wall in the background....more color pictures to come when our house doesn't look like the aftermath of a warzone)
Henry was very excited to give Jared his father's day gift...he decorated the bag with stickers and waited as long as he could...
Then he got a little distracted. Luckily we didn't have to live out of suitcases for very long...we took it for what it was worth and pretended we were camping ;)
Henry loves his new house...he has a table that he eats at everyday now...don't worry, those walls behind him didn't stay white for long!
Henry found this hat, and wouldn't take it off..I had to take it off and wash it finally, because it's actually a nylon rain hat that's lined, so it wasn't smelling too great in this humidity :(

We embarked upon our trip with excitement, and mostly the feeling of wanting to get it done! The day before we left, my friend Cheryll hosted and catered a graduation party for Jared. It was amazing food as always, and we had a great time! Here are some of the state signs that we passed along the way, along with the toll sign...what? You have to pay to drive on the road?! Oh, and you have to pump your own gas, too...what's next? Jared drove through Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska and part of Iowa before picking up Henry, Sherri and I. Together, we drove the rest of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, part of Pennsylvania, Upstate New York and then into Massachusetts. We were VERY happy to cross that state line! We're really happy with our new home, and I'll add pictures when we're done painting. It's a brand new complex and nobody has lived in our apartment yet...it's great! Thanks to everyone for your help and support during this huge transition for our family.
Jared's graduation was June 8th and it was great! Of course, my camera battery died after this photo, so that's the only one I have...I'd appreciate any emailed photos that other people took!
Henry didn't like his ghetto-fabulous rain jacket...aparrently, it cramped his style.
Sophie and Celeste had fun out in the rain.
If only I'll be able to keep him this fascinated with the vacuum as a teen!
Henry started using a big fork to eat with, and is very proud of himself!
After four years at the Hillsboro office of DHS, I was sad to say good-bye to my friends there. Lesley threw a great party for me on my last day at her house. There were several of us that stuck it out until the end, and it was so much fun!
Jared and Baby Oliver
Henry and Sophie...he loves her, and calles her "To-phee"
Alisa, Cheryll, Lesley with Oliver, Molly, Laurie H., Sara and Kristen...we had a ball!
Henry had a ball being pulled around my parents' yard in the wagon.
