We got Maui'd!

Jared and I went on a much-needed and, I think, well-deserved trip to Maui for a whole week (sans Henry). We had a wonderful time! So, since we don't have a roll-up vinyl shade in our house, or a film projector, or 8mm film, you will all be subjected to our "vacation slide-show" via this blog. But, it's kind of like watching your crazy uncles slides, because, well, they're not really in order. If you want to know more about our trip, we'd love to talk about it...if you really don't care, scroll down until you see Henry's cute face again, because there certainly wasn't "in the picture" there :) Yes, I am cheesy, but you love it.

The views from my friend's house were AMAZING!

Ahhhhhh...this is the life!
Look...it's Jared Cousteau peeping out of the water with his swim goggles
A true Edvalson knows that no beach trip is complete without good ice cream. This was fresh Mangos and Cream with Coconut Ice Cream on the bottom...de-lish!

We drove up to the Iao needle one day after being at the beach for a few hours. I had been asking Jared if we could stop at a place to take an outdoor shower since my hair was all salty and sandy. After we got caught in a torrential rainstorm, Jared turned to me and said "I told you I'd find a fresh-water shower for you."...hmmm...Sherri, does this remind you of our DC experience?

What has two thumbs and loves adventure vacations where you get stuck in the pouring rain?

Snorkeling at Molokini

We went snorkeling at Molokini, which we decided was our very favorite part. Pictures never really do anything justice, but we rented an underwater camera and they did a pretty good job. We saw a lot of great stuff, and there were even a few More eels in the water that day...they were pretty neat!

We went to the Hyatt Lua'u in Ka'anapali, which is in West Maui. It was really fun...tons of great food!

We took a day to drive the "Road to Hana". All of the pictures between here and the Haleakala posting were taken on that drive.

These pictures were taken in a small town that is a detour off the road to Hana, called Nahiku. It was a town established as a rubber tree plantation, but it was too rainy for the trees to produce a good crop, so it's very sparsely populated now. Great coastline at the dead end of the road.
