Connecticut Trip

We decided to take a "Sunday Drive" today to Connecticut to check out some of the fall folliage, we stopped at a park in Southbridge, Mass to eat our lunch and let Henry get some energy out. I still can't get over the fact that we were gone from our house for less than 4 hours, errands before heading out of town and a one hour stop for lunch included and we got to see a different state. I love being here for that reason. We've now officially been to all the New England states...next on the agenda? Northern Vermont to the Ben and Jerry's factory :)

Picturesque Connecticut farm...there were so many beautiful homes on the way

You don't have to tell this girl twice!

This statue was in the middle of town...Jared was driving too quickly for me to see what it was, but it looked picture worthy :)

All the animals are lined up to feed...I'm not sure Charlie knows what to think of his brother's OCD tendancies.

Bellobration!

Because of my blog, we got offered tickets to the Ring Ling circus when it comes to Boston, along with this pack of prizes we won from another friend's blog. The clown nose was a hit, but a lot less comfortable than the old foam ones...the only person whose nose it fit was Jared's, but we had fun nonetheless. I'll have updates after we go to the circus on Sunday, when we see "The Greatest Show On Earth"

Exersaucer!

We got an exersaucer from our friends today, and Charlie loves it! Henry had a little "Old Memories" day and started wailing on the spinning toys...good times for all!

I asked Henry what he was doing, and he replied with a (duh) "I'm being a police officer!"...hmmm...

Cute as a baby's bottom

There's just nothing cuter than a naked baby's bottom...

Of course, Henry is not to be outdone, and insisted I take a picture of his 'turtle'...then wouldn't cooperate for the actual picture. When do the teen years start again?

Can I Ride That Balloon?!

I was drinking my morning coffee staring at the wall, zoning while Henry watched PBS Kids and Jared and Charlie slept in the other room. The house was pretty quiet, and then Henry exclaimed "I wanna ride in that balloon!" Thinking he was talking about something from Curious George, I didn't answer. Then he said "Mommy! Look at that balloon!" I thought he meant a regular balloon, and I thought, what's one doing outside. I turned around it was HUGE. It was just right there, and even with my line of sight. I even deemed it appropriate to wake Jared and have him look out the window. It was the same level of excitement that I remember when my mom would come wake us up when Manda and I were little to show us the first real snowfall each winter.

I wish I had had a camera in my hand when I first turned around, because this balloon was litterally RIGHT outside our window. It was just taking off from the parking lot of the building just behind us, so it was one of those moments where someone tells you something is close and you turn around to see it right there. I've never seen a hot air balloon up close in real life, and I guess it had never dawned on me until I was awestruck. I wish the camera had captured it better. It's a really gray dark day, but the colors on this balloon are so vibrant.

So excited!
