These are some photos of the new WWII memorial by the reflecting pool. It is beautiful and very massive. Directly across from the "Atlantic" arch is a "Pacific" arch. It was very impressive, and had quotes on almost every surface about the war. A must see if you go and haven't been in the last 5 years or so.
Jessie was such a trooper...it was a very hot and humid day to be walking around...boy was she disappointed to learn what everyone meant when we said we were going to "The Mall" :)
While in Maryland we all went to St. Michael's Catholic Church where my mom and dad got married 41 years ago...they had not been back since their wedding day, it was neat to see where it all began.
We went to Six Flags with some of the people in Jared's program, and we spent ALL DAY there...it was so much fun! They had a "Thomas Town" section, so we took Henry through there before we went on the adult rides, and they also had a water park where we ended our day. It was my first time at an amusement park, and we had a blast...then next three postings are from that day.
Henry and Jared waiting to ride Thomas
This is the drop on the one roller coaster that I rode...it was the Superman ride, and it was almost one mile long and took about 2 and a half minutes, reaching speeds of almost 75 miles an hour...I knew that I would only be able to do one, so I did the biggest one there!
This was the last ride of the night...it looks ominous becuase it was! I did not join them on it!
Henry got about this close to Bugs Bunny, and then made it very clear that he was having none of it!
After being at the aquatic park...henry played in the fountain and had a lot of fun!
